Punching hard into concrete while avoiding the awful "white finger" is vital. That's why we're delighted to now be stocking Bosch's brand new GSH7 VC SDS-max demolition hammer drill (click for the full spec and our best buying price).
There's no doubt that doing any type of chiseling application takes its toll physically on you guys, especially if you're working overhead. Equally, let's say you're removing tiles, for example. Within no time you're likely to be knackered due to the repetitive nature of the job, coupled with handling the drill.
That's why you need to buy a drill that's light enough to use overhead, while delivering the grunt the job requires, and keeping the hand/arm vibration safely within the HSE's requirements.
Why You Should Buy the Bosch GSH 7VC Professional SDS-Max Hammer Drill
For starters, it's light, weighing in at only 8.4kg, but despite that it delivers a punch via its 13 joules of impact energy thanks to the 1500 watt motor. The GSH7VC features Bosch's typically excellent German engineering, giving your investment a long lifetime.
This is made possible thanks to the robust metal components. The hammer mechanism has been specifically designed and tested for chiseling applications, and the world-famous testing institute SLG Prüf- und Zertifizierungs GmbH has rated the GSH 7VC as providing material removal rates of 240kg of concrete per hour!
The long lifetime of the tool, per Bosch's claims, is aided by the inclusion of Bosch's Constant Electronics which means the GSH7 VC will deliver the goods even when you're pushing the tool hard under load.
Fast work, consistent work, but also working safe.
A great feature is the Vario-Lock system. The GSH7VC comes supplied with an SDS-Max 400mm self-sharpening pointed chisel. Via the Vario-Lock you can adjust the chisel to 16 different operating positions meaning you'll be able to adapt the drill to whatever applications you're undertaking.
Self-sharpening bits are brilliant, as you work they get sharpened! Simple as that.

Safety First for Bosch GSH7VC's Longlife
The safety of the tool is a huge consideration for a heavy-hitter like the GSH7VC. In addtion to the Constant Electronics, Bosch has developed the drill to allow you to stay safe while you work. Bosch's quoted operating time is 2 hours per day/user. This is due to the low vibration rate of 9.5 m/s².
How is that possible?
As with all hammers from Bosch, the GSH7 VC features a decoupled body and "floating" side handles, and the hammer mechanism has been optimised to push the energy back into the bit you're using, helping reduce the vibration felt in your hands and arms. It also includes a large air buffer to, again, absorbe the vibration before it reaches your body.
Dust Extraction for Your Longlife via the GDEMAX
As Eric notes in the above video, perhaps a greater risk to you - as the drill's operator - and those around you is dust, particular fine concrete dust.
Hence, if you're using the GSH7 VC - or any of these Bosch hammer; GSH 5 CE, GSH 7 VC, GSH 11 VC; GBH 5-40 DCE, GBH 7-46 DE, GBH 8-45 DV, GBH 11 DE - you'll benefit hugely for getting the optional extral dust extraction adaptor for when you're chiseling.
Bosch claims that by attaching the GDEMAX to your hammer drill you'll have a virtually dust-free chiseling experience.
The GDEMAX features a universal adaptor to fit all of Bosch's SDS-Max hammers and benefits from the Click and Clean System allowing it to fit directly to a Bosch dust extraction unit, preferably one of Bosch's M-class cleaners, such as the Bosch GAS 55 M AFC. And if you're using long chisels, up to a a maximum of 600mm, the GDEMAX is adjustable in length and comes with an extension piece.
Eric hooked a GDEMAX up to the GSH7VC, watch his demo on Toolstop TV by clicking here, or in the player below.
In summary we've got power, protection and pummeling action from the Bosch GSH7VC professional SDS-Max hammer drill and the optional extra GDEMAX dust extraction adaptor. Both of which, when combined together, will enable you to work harder, faster and safer.
