Straight off the bat, the inclusion of the 18v 4.0Ah CoolPack batteries is a huge advantage and benefit. Why? Bosch claim up to 65% longer runtime per charge and up to 100% longer lifetime of the battery.
Why does that matter with this grinder?
Well, a grinder is going to put huge strains on the source of its power. So you need the peace of mind to know that the battery on your battery-powered tool is up to the task.
Something that every lithium-ion battery should have is a fuel indicator. For all the CoolPack batteries run and run, as our tests and reviews testify (plus click here for Bosch's own videos on this), being able to see at a glance the charge condition of your battery is a big benefit.
You'll know exactly when to swap it out for a fully charged unit. Or simply stop for a quick brew...
The GWS-125v-Li has another big benefit.
The 125mm disc size. This will allow you to make cuts of up to 35mm, 5mm more than a grinder fitted with the typical disc size of 115mm.
Another key factor to consider when buying a cordless grinder is how it feels in the hand.
The GWS-125V-Li is going to run and run thanks to the batteries. So that means you'll be able to use it for long periods of time. Therefore, great ergonomics are key.
The grip on the GWS-125V-Li is purposefully slim so that it sits comfortably in your hand, and the short length, coupled with a weight of only 2.4kg, means that it's a joy to hold and use, even in narrow, cramped spaces.
Our reviewer, Wayne Burgess of Avalon Builders, a plumber with over 35 years experience, noted that he was able to use the grinder comfortably in one hand while he worked.

Safety should be paramount with using any grinder, and again, this has been a key consideration of Bosch's while factoring the benefits of the GWS18-125V-Li.
The guard is "bullet-proof", meaning if your disc should break while in use you'll be protected. Fragments of broken disc would be ejected away from you.
The switch is also a "two-movement" design. This means the safety switch requires two dissimilar movements from the operator to engage it to the "on" position. This, obviously, prevents you from accidentally turning the grinder on. A single push of the switch automatically returns it to the "off" position.
Bosch has also included some of it's famous electronic safety protocols to the GSW18-125V-Li.
Electronic Cell Protection(ECP) further adds to the performance capabilities of the lithium-ion batteries, preventing any deep discharge, with Bosch claiming this adds up to 400% longer lifetime.
And of course, Electronic Motor Protection (EMP) is built in to the motor. This will shut it down should the grinder end up in an overload situation. This not only protects you, the operator, but protects your power tool, helping prolong its (and your!) life.
