B&Q to Give DIY Lessons in Schools
Posted by Mark Hunter - October 27, 2009
My wife and I were talking about how hard it is to find the time to pass on essential skills to our 3 children. You know, skills like how to tie their shoe laces...
B&Q have picked up on this issue and have prepared a curriculum for schools so that children won't have to rely on grandparents to get essential home repairs done. Again, speaking personally, I often need to rely on my father to help me out with DIY projects.
I think the problem is two-fold;
- knowing how to do the job
- knowing which tools are needed to do the job
So, while B&Q are going to be educating children on how to do the job, the Toolstop Power Tool Cookbook is dedicated to teaching you which tools you're going to need.
Education is always key. And in today's economic climate, knowing how to fix something rather than throwing it away or calling in an expensive 'handy man', will surely be beneficial for us all.
