SIP 01362 4"X6" Belt & Disc Sander 240 volt, complete with quick belt tensioner and adjustable 90 degree fence.

As the name clearly suggest these types of machine have both a sanding disc and sanding belt.

The belt is mainly used for sanding larger objects such as the sides of boxes. It also has one very important feature, this being the actual area where it passes around the end of the drim. This rounded belt surface is extremely useful for sanding curved or concave objects.

Tilting belts are another useful feature, allowing the belt to be set a desired angle or to match a workpiece, when dealing with cumbersome objects.

The disc is predominantly used for sanding smaller items. The backing plate is extremely rigid enabling the user to produce external curves or accurate angles.

Most belt / disc sanders are supplied with a sanding table and mitre gauge. These are essential requirements when it comes to rapidly producing precision mitres and angles. However some sanding tables also have a tilt facility, which when combined with the mitre guage can rapidly produce precision mitres and compound angles.
