Toolstop Power Tool of the Year 2011 - Time to Place Your Vote

Its coming to the end of 2011 and Toolstop is, once again, proud to announce the Toolstop Power Tool Awards, or as we call them, The Power Tool Oscars.

Last year we gave all of you the opportunity to choose your favourite power tool and vote accordingly and you chose Bosch with their GOP10.8V-LI Multitool which collected 42% of the votes, although Makita ran them close, picking up 34% of your votes for their BJV180Z.

This year we've taken our top selling tools from 5 of the top power tool manufacturers and are asking YOU to vote on what is your personal favourite.

So, which power tools are in the running?

First up, we've got the much-awaited, much-debated mitre saw from Bosch, featuring their revolutionary glide axial. It's the Bosch GCM12 GLD Professional Glide mitre saw, and you can see it in action here.

Makita slapped an 18v LXT li-ion battery onto a planer and created the awesome BKP180 LXT 18v Li-on corldess planer, is if it's a favourite of yours, vote for it below. See our video of it in action here.

Dewalt brought a raft of brand new XR power tools to the market in 2011, and from that range we've chosen then work-horse of a combi drill, the Dewalt DCD985L2 18v XR Li-Ion XRP combi. Watch our video of it in action.

Metabo also pushed their boundaries with some of their new products during 2011, and from their stable we've picked out the Metabo SXE450 TurboTec disc sander. We've got a video of it in action here.

Lastly on our list of 5 of the best power tools from 2011, we've added a twin pack from Hitachi, the Hitachi KC10DFL 12V Peak li-ion Drill Driver and Impact Driver. This boundle of power includes the WH10DFL lightweight Impact Driver and DS10DFL lightweight Drill Driver.

How can you vote for your favourite power tool of the year, thereby making sure it's in the running for the Toolstop Power Tool Oscar?

Simply choose your favourite of the 5 below, then click vote. It's that easy.

What if you're favourite power tool hasn't made it onto our list?

Then just vote for your favourite manufacturer. So, if you love Bosch, but weren't big on the GCL12 GLD, vote for Bosch anyway...

And if you think we've completely lost the plot with our choice of 5 power tools, let us know in the comments which tools you think should have made it on to the short list.

The Metabo is the one for me.  Metabo, German quality, is by far the best brand of professional power tool and lasts forever
