As always, the anticipation and excitement were like electricty in the air as we all gathered together for the moment where the opening of the gold envelop would reveal the winner of the coveted Toolstop Oscar.

In attendance were Bosch, Makita, DeWALT, Hitachi and Metabo.

Each power tool company nominated in our annual Power Tool of the Year award takes the result seriously, knowing as they do that the winner - and 2 runners-up - are chosen by you guys, the people who buy and use their products each day at work.

How did the voting unfold during December and what is YOUR Power Tool of the Year 2015?

Runner Up - Makita HS7601J 190mm Circular Saw

makita sawMakita, the proverbial also-rans in the POTY voting, came a close second in 2015.

We know you guys love this saw, hence the number of votes it received, but Makita missed out on the gong once again. Perhaps 2016 will be its year?

Third Place - Metabo KGS216M Mitre Saw (2015 model)

metabo kgs216mGerman manufacturer Metabo squeezed in at third place out of the five finalists with their re-boot of the ever popular KGS216M sliding mitre saw.

With loads of great features and a few nifty refinements, this was a valient attempt from Metabo to claim the coveted POTY, but they missed out this year to a very worthy winner.

WINNER of the 2015 POTY - DeWalt DCN660 Brushless 2nd Fix Nailer

DeWALT have done it, they've scooped up a hattrick of POTYs; that's 3 Power Tool of the Year Awards voted for by you guys in a row, taking their total to 4 out of a potential 6 POTYs since we launched the event in 2010.

And it's clear why so many of you voted for DeWALT. The DCN660 has truly evolved the nailer to another level.

Not only is it gas-less, it's brushless and corldess, giving you all of the practicality of a cordless tool, with the amazing run-times of a brushless motor, while freeing you from the hassles encountered when using gas.
