Top Weekend Idea: Get Your Bushes Trimmed
Posted by Mark Hunter - April 08, 2011
The weather promises to be glorious this weekend. All across our fair, green land the sound of motorised gardening tools will be carried on the cool, spring breeze as horticultural endeavours get under way.
And you too can be a part of it as you gaze upon the virescent shrubby clustered around your garden. Yes, it's time to get your bushes trimmed.
And as always, we're here to help with the tools perfect for the job.
First off, we love its flexibility. Its cordless, and lithium-ion at that. And we love lithium-ion; no discharge, no "memory effect", quick charge times, long run life. Lithium-ion batteries are also really light. So the ASB10.8v li benefits from being light in the hand, ergonomic of design, it'll be fully charged in 3 hours, it'll give you 100 minutes of bush and lawn edge trimming and weights less than 1kg.
Because it's so small and maneuverable you can use it at any angle.
Basically, if you move your arm and wrist to a particular angle, then you can use the Bosch ASB10.8v Li at that angle.
This stands for Anti-Blocking System. Whenever the precision-ground, highly visible blades meet a piece of twig or branch, or generally shrubbery, that's too tough to cut in one swish, the motor won't stall or jam. Rather, in the blink of an eye (it really is that quick), the motor will reverse, then go into forward gear, and finish the twig off.
It's an innovation that you may not actually notice when using the ASB10.8v Li, but that's probably the point. It means it's doing its job.
The kit Roger from Bosch Lawn & Garden demonstrates above comes with two easy-to-fit, interchangeable blades. One will take care of your bush, the other will sort out your lawn edges.
So, what are you waiting for? Get your weekend off to a fantastic spring start; get your bush trimmed.
