In this DIY special we’re showcasing the Black & Decker BDCS36G Gyroscopic Motion Sensing Screwdriver.
This is a world’s first. It’s a powered screwdriver that knows what you want to do!
How does it know this? It senses the movement of your wrist thanks to Black & Decker’s Gyro Driver™.
By pressing on the power button on the rear of the screwdriver, the driver then senses the movement of your wrist.
Even gentle motions are picked up by the sensor, adjusting the motor’s speed and direction. Black & Decker claim this technology allows anyone using the BDCS36G to "drive screws perfectly first time, every time, easier than ever before".
The range of motions detected by the Gyro Driver™is from 0-30°, the more obtuse the angle the faster the bit turns.
Who Should Buy the BDCS36G?
Anyone who’ll be doing the following types of DIY tasks:
- General DIY tasks around the home
- Flat pack furniture assembly
- Putting up shelves, door brackets, hinges
- Fixing radiator brackets to the wall
Even working in poorly lit areas is possible (think back of kitchen or bathroom cabinets) thanks to the bright LED job light.
The battery is a 3.6V li-ion powering the motor to provide up to 3Nm of torque. Simply charge up the battery, drop one of the supplied screwdriver bits into the magnetic bit holder, and the motor will turn up to 180rpm, with torque control (meaning you won’t overtighten the screws, damaging what you’re working on).
