Metabo KGS216M Mitre Saw – Your Favourite Workshop Saw?

Posted by Toolstop on 24th Feb 2017

Metabo KGS216M Slide Compound Mitre Saw – the Woodworker’s Favourite – click here to see it.

This is a 1500W machine, giving your cuts of up to 65mm depth at 90º. All of the red components on this saw do something.

For example, the blade lock-down mechanism is red, release it and the blade is ready for action. At the rear, you find the red release knob for the slide rails. Once released you’ll be able to cut up to a very impressive 305mm in width. The rails run on needle roller bearings for a lovely smooth gliding action while you cut.

It benefits from a solid milled cast aluminium base, giving the saw the rigidity it needs when you’re cutting hard woods, and on the left and right of the base, you find the telescopic support arms. These will adequately support longer work pieces.

Again, these are released via the red lever. As an additional bonus, you’ll find length stops which you can pop up to control the workpiece as you cut.

At the front of the machine is the mitre mechanism giving you a mitre of up to 47º left and right, while the bevel function, located at the rear of the saw, will allow you to bevel up to 47º to the left.

Cutting hard woods like oak is a breeze, with the compact saw drawing on the power from the motor to make short work, even of larger pieces, thanks to the 305mm slide action.

Eyeing up your cutting line is easy thanks to the installed laser, and it even includes a work light to help you in those dark corners of the workshop or jobsite.
