In 1927 in Niederraunau, Bavaria Josef Scheppach founded his business, originally making agricultural machinery and firewood cutting saws. In 1950 his sons Fritz and Josef acquired the company and in the mid-seventies they became more focused on woodworking machinery. In 1997 the company was acquired by Ernst Pfaff which led to a ten-fold increase in turnover. The company still boasts a Made in Germany badge which secures them a top place in the market. Now Scheppach have subsidiary companies in France and Australia. They have now branched out into compressors, construction machines, generators, power tools and garden machinery.
