How to Replace the Chuck on a Makita Drill

You will need:
- Allen Key
- Spanner
- Optional vice (makes unscrewing easier)

How to Change a Drill Chuck
Follow these 3 easy steps to remove a drill chuck:
1. If there is a screw in the centre of the chuck, uncrew this. If not, you can go straight in with your Allen Key. Simply insert it into the front of the chuck, same way you would if you were inserting a drill bit, and clamp it in place.
2. Take your spanner to the back of the chuck and then undo it. This can be done either in a vice or by hand
3. Use the allen key to spin and remove the chuck from the shaft
Its as simple as that!
To replace the chuck on a drill:
1. Screw the chuck back onto the shaft
2. Tighten the back of the chuck with your spanner
3. Put the screw back into the chuck if it had one
