All About the DCGG571 Dewalt Grease Gun

When we shot our demo video of the DeWALT DCGG571M1 Grease Gun, we asked the guys next door to DeWALT’s UK training HQ if we could use one of their forklift trucks.

In terms of spec, here’s what DeWALT has published:

• Max Volume: 5.0oz/min
• Hose Length: 42″
• Cartridge Capacity: 400g
• LED Light: Yes

And it comes with a shoulder strap, perfect for when you need both hands for climbing in and around hard-to-access areas, and a 4Ah 18V XR battery.

So, how does a grease gun like the DCGG571 M1 save you time?

For starters, like any cordless power tool, it’s not tethered to any kind of cord or line. Work wherever you need to be via the supplied 4Ah 18V XR battery. And you’ll have up to 10,000psi of greasing power in your hand, which is phenomenal and is enough pressure to unblock even the most clogged grease point.

DeWALT is aiming this at anyone needing to perform routine greasing applications on vehicles or construction equipment, in factories and manufacturing plants.

Obviously, keeping your hardware well lubricated is absolutely vital, and being able to do so quickly by using a cordless grease gun is going to be a huge time saver.

Not just in terms of the speed you’ll be able to work, but the fact you can take the grease gun to the machine, helping prevent costly machinery downtime.
The gun can take 400g grease cartridges and one fully-charged 4Ah battery will get you through up to 16 cartridges, pushing out up to 5.0oz/min through the 42″ hose, controlled via the variable speed trigger.

If you’re not using grease cartridges, the DCGG571M1 allows you to draw grease into the cylinder from a tub or bucket.

Obviously, grease guns are used in filthy areas of the workplace and we know that dirt isn’t a friend of power tools. Therefore, DeWALT has been smart enough to include an innovative removable/cleanable pump filter screen which will help stop dirt from passing into and through the pump’s mechanism. At the front of the gun, you’ll find the purge valve and the LED work light.

The former is needed in case, when you change over grease cartridges, air gets trapped in the system, hampering the flow and the pressure output. Turning this valve will release the air, and you’re back up and running again.

And as is becoming more and more common, and therefore expected, the LED light is great for working in dark or poorly lit areas around the workshop or jobsite. Lots of time can be wasted trying to locate fittings that are dirty or hard to find. The LED light will make this much easier.
