Bert Draper founded Draper Tools in 1919 where he started selling government surplus and tools in markets around the Kingston Upon Thames area. Bert passed away in 1963, when his son Norman took on the reins. With increased business and cramped conditions Norman purchased the current premises in Chandler's Ford, Hampshire the same year. Norman pushed the business forward developing the 'Draper' brand as we know it today importing quality tools from all around the World. He also established relationships on a family to family basis, with Companies Elora and Knipex, which still exist. His son John took over the reins in 1992 with the task of taking the company into the new century.
Draper Tools continue to thrive on ‘Guaranteed Quality’. The current premises in Chandler's Ford have been added to considerably since purchase and now are 535,000 sq.ft, probably the largest stock of tools in one place in the UK.
